You may qualify by providing:
- A court order that waived your filing fees or found you unable to pay (proof of indigence),
- A signed and dated letter from a professional representative confirming your financial need,
- Documents showing you receive public assistance like food stamps, Medicare, Medicaid, or other government aid,
- Proof that your income meets federal low-income guidelines for your state.

Letters from Professional Representatives:
A “professional” in this context means someone in a position of authority or expertise who is familiar with your financial situation. This could include:
- Court staff or court-appointed personnel
- Social workers
- Case managers
- Legal aid attorneys or paralegals
- Clergy or faith leaders (if involved in support services)
- Healthcare professionals (e.g., doctors or therapists who know your financial situation)
- School counselors or financial aid officers
- Nonprofit or shelter staff (who assist with housing, food, or other basic needs)
The letter must be signed, dated, and ideally on official letterhead.
Government Aid
Name/reference of aid available may vary from state to state.
- Food Stamps (SNAP Food Benefits)
- Welfare or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
- Medical Coverage - Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
